A cheery robin’s egg blue, Blue Moon frozen custard is a Wisconsin staple. Blue Moon’s flavor is difficult to describe and has led to many debates. Personally, I’ve always explained it as the flavor of milk at the bottom of a bowl of Fruity Pebbles: creamy, a little fruity, vaguely marshmallow-y, and pleasantly sweet. Although it’s probably more common in ice cream form, it is best enjoyed as a richer, eggier, frozen custard form, especially if you can catch it in the flavor rotation at Zesty’s in Allouez, Wisconsin. —Natalia Mendez
